Me too…

So I bought myself a Nutribullet after one of those late night infomercials. Who wouldn’t be convinced?

I was so pumped. Getting ready to take on a brand new way of life. Filling my body with the nourishment it needs.

I wanted to fulfil a goal. Develop a healthy plan that would ensure my body got everything it needs…

And I was gonna feel greaaaattt!

I bought all the necessary ingredients for a few days of heavenly smoothies, ready to start my new daily routine.

Well the self-motivation wore thin and my plan crashed and burned…

To be fair…i was inundated with recipes and ideas for positivity and wellness. I didn’t know where to start. I had no plan and was just hoping for the best.

What is it they say…Fail to plan, plan to fail!

Well, I didn’t get round to it! Planning or feeling greaattt.

But I’m feeling ready y’all. Ready to do this…

So first I’m dusting of my Nutribullet, whilst apologising to it for neglecting it in all this time. Sure it got used every now and then, but had been used to make far too many Skittles milkshakes (naughty, but oh so nice!).

Energy is at the top of my ‘wanted’ list. I’ve rounded up some delicious recipes that I can incorporate into my week to keep me feeling perky and actually able to do the Carlton dance without clutching my back.

A Plan for the Week

I decided to make a weekly plan so that I could spread my recipes through the week so I could have a blast of energy per day.

Here is a list of ingredients that are especially good for boosting your energy levels. Add these to your daily smoothie to extract maximum nutrients and vitamins.

  • Chia and flax seeds
  • Leafy greens – spinach, kale, parsley
  • Spices – cinnamon, nutmeg, cayenne, tumeric
  • Goji berries
  • Wheatgrass

 

Monday

For the beginning of the week, I’ve picked a detox smoothie. This is to give me that extra perk needed to start my week on a positive foot.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 cup vanilla greek yogurt
  • 1 medium ripe avocado, halved & pitted
  • 2 cups fresh spinach
  • 1 pear, peeled & chopped
  • 15 green grapes
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes

Tuesday

Ingredients

  • A Very Berry Boost
  • 1/2 cup blueberries
  • 1/2 cup blackberries
  • 1/2 cup cherries
  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon flax oil
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • dash of cinnamon

Blend all of the ingredients together until smooth and creamy.

Wednesday

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup plain coconut water
  • 2 frozen ripe bananas, previously peeled & sliced
  • 1 cup chopped pineapple (frozen or fresh)
  • 1 cup chopped mango (frozen or fresh)
  • 2 cups spinach or kale
  • 1/2 avocado, sliced
  • optional: 1 Tablespoon ground flax or flaxseed oil

Blend all of the ingredients together until smooth and creamy.

 

Thursday

Ingredients

  • 2 pints pineapple
  • 2 pints watermelon
  • 2 quarts coconut water
  • 1 bunch spinach
  • 1-2 cups blueberries
  • 2 green apples

Blend all of the ingredients together until smooth and creamy.

 

Friday

Ingredients

  • 2 bananas
  • ½ cup strawberries (or blueberries)
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 teaspoon spirulina powder
  • 2 tablespoons powdered almonds
  • 1 cup raw almond milk
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 2 tablespoons of coconut oil
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon cocoa powder (yummy!)
  • Cinnamon powder

Blend all of the ingredients together until smooth and creamy.

 

Saturday

Ingredients

  • 1 apple, cored with peel left on
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
  • ½ frozen banana
  • 1 teaspoon maple Syrup (optional)
  • ½ cup coconut milk from the cartoon
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • A pinch ground cinnamon

Blend all of the ingredients together until smooth and creamy.

 

Sunday

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Spinach
  • 1 Cup Mixed Berries
  • 1  Banana
  • 1  Clementine
  • 1 ½ Cups Coconut Water

Blend all of the ingredients together until smooth and creamy.
